The Responsible Mica Initiative (RMI) is thrilled to release its 2025 Annual Report – an in-depth look at the collective progress made toward our shared mission: building fair, responsible, and sustainable mica supply chains globally.
2025 report highlights significant milestones achieved through collaboration with our members across industries and partners, civil society, local communities and different governments.
Key achievements in 2025 include:

- Expansion of RMI well-established Community Empowerment Programs to 50 new villages and mica communities in India and 5 in Madagascar, bringing the total to 235 villages and 114,000 beneficiaries, including more than 50,725 children.

- Enhancement of our third-party audit assurance processes, with clearer audit cycles, more rigorous scoring system, and a robust accreditation process for external auditors

- Grant of financial support from the European Union in India and UNDP in Madagascar

- Increase in membership, with 23 new organizations joining RMI as members, bringing our total membership to 113.
Moving towards our 2030 goals
The report also highlights plans for the coming years, and remaining challenges to be addressed, including:

- Continued support to mica communities and especially children

- Promotion of responsible purchasing practices, accountability and a living wage

- Reinforced supply chain traceability, transparency and trust

- Continued efforts to formalize the mica sector in India
