RMI Annual Conference 2026 brings together global stakeholders on responsible sourcing
The Responsible Mica Initiative (RMI) recently hosted its Annual Conference 2026, titled Worker voice: from trust to impact on the ground, bringing together more than 120 live participants from across industry, civil society, academia, consulting firms, and the wider responsible sourcing community.
The strong level of participation demonstrates growing interest in strengthening worker engagement and ensuring that responsible sourcing efforts lead to tangible improvements on the ground.
How do you know if a grievance mechanism is actually working – not just on paper, but in practice?
Throughout the conference, speakers and participants explored how worker voice can be more effectively integrated into responsible sourcing programs, monitoring systems, and remediation approaches.rting to meaningful change.
The discussion brought together different perspectives on worker engagement, grievance mechanisms, and remediation, with practical insights from:
- ITSCI on how whistleblowing and grievance mechanisms function end-to-end in practice
- Pillar Two on research findings around effectiveness and common implementation gaps
- RMI on how worker pre-consultation and worker inputs can lead to concrete improvements in working conditions
The session focused on practical challenges, lessons learned, and the conditions needed to build trust and generate real impact on the ground.
