THE RESPONSIBLE MICA INITIATIVE PUBLISHES FIRST ANNUAL REPORT

A report detailing RMI’s progress towards enabling a sustainable mica industry in India

The Responsible Mica Initiative’s 2018 Annual Report provides a comprehensive review of RMI’s mission and the programs we have developed and implemented to revive a sustainable mica industry and eliminate child labor in this industry in the Indian states of Bihar and Jharkhand. In RMI’s first annual report, we explain the origins of our organization and the commitment of our growing number of members to achieve a common goal.

In the two short years since RMI was established (2017-2018), we have realized a number of significant milestones on our journey to address the root causes leading to the presence of child labor in the mica supply chain. The report shares details of our three key program pillars that work in unison to improve working conditions, empower local communities and establish legal frameworks for the mica sector.

We hope you find the report informative and that it inspires you to join our cause !
