Starting with 20 initial founding members, the Responsible Mica Initiative today has more than 65 members. Membership is drawn from companies in the mica supply chain, non-governmental or civil society organizations and industry associations whose members use mica in their products.
Active Members are companies that produce or use mica in their business activities or products. Active Members also include organizations including non-profit industry associations and civil society and non-governmental organizations that support and contribute to RMI objectives and programs. Active members vote in the General Assembly, participate in RMI member Action Groups and are required to pay annual dues based on the organization’s annual revenues or profile.
Honorary Members volunteer their services or expertise to support RMI objectives and programs. Honorary members can participate in RMI member Action Groups and attend General Assembly meetings but do not have voting rights. They are not required to pay annual dues.
Associate Members represent local communities and organizations which can contribute to defining and developing ethical sourcing practices and otherwise support RMI’s objectives and programs. Associate Members can participate in Action Groups and attend General Assembly meetings, but do not have voting rights. They are not required to pay annual dues.
Honorary and Associate membership will be assessed per applicant on a case by case basis.
